21.4.6 crash when switching to a directory that has been updated

Dear Bug Team!
If I have a directory that has changed and I try to navigate to that
directory by using the .. link from the directory below or clicking
down into it from above, xemacs will crash. This does not happen if I
use Buffers -> <Directory that changed>
I am running on an hp running hpux 11.0 using xemacs version 21.4.6
Below is the crash transcript:

set-frame-(height|width) broken with gtk-xemacs

I'm trying to write a function to toggle the size of my frame
(specifically for Gnus). Here's what I have:

This function works fine with xemacs-21.4.6-mule that ships with
debian/woody; but doesn't do anything with any of the gtk versions I
can test against (this one, and several all the way back to
21.4.6-gnome-mule that ships with debian/woody). I've also noticed
that the help/navigation frame for ediff-buffers doesn't resize
properly either.

Dear Bug Team!
BBDB has been throwing me periodic error messages for
the past several months. At first I thought it was a
corruption in my .bbdb file, but now it looks like it's
a problem with BBDB itself, and less likely with VM. It
happens once every couple of days with various
addresses.
On my system:
bbdb-version => "2.32"
vm-version => "7.00"
emacs-version => "21.4 (patch 0) \"Solid Vapor\" XEmacs Lucid"
The error described below happens consistently with
mail from XEmacs developer Peter Brown. BTW, I filter
all XEmacs-related mail into its own folder with
procmail, which is why you see only XEmacs messages in
the example shown.
What happens is this: When I press n in a summary
window (M-x vm-next-message) I get an error like this:

It doesn't go to the next line. However, I can go to
the next line using {C-n} (M-x next-line), and then
press space to read the message. *Sometimes*. Not in
this instance, because the next one is also an unread
message from the same sender. (I have vm-preview-lines
set to 0.) However, sometimes (but not always), the
message boundary seems to be messed up, i.e., I will
see some or all of the next message, or the whole
remainder of the folder, headers and all, will appear.

This may be overkill, but here is what it looks like on
my screen. In the first image, notice that messages 2-4
are from Peter Brown, and have been read. (Somehow, I'm
not sure how. In the process of dinking with it to get
this tedious report done, things have changed.
Originally the first message from Peter was causing the
error.) The current message is #5, from Nick V.
Pakoulin. I press 'n' and this is what I see:

I turn on debugging and it looks like this:

It does seem that the message triggering the problem
must be unread.
Also, I find that in my .bbdb, there are *two* entries,
which I'm sure ought to be merged. I would do that, but
I was afraid it might make the bug disappear and I'd be
able to report this. I've been looking for an
opportunity to do so for weeks.

Gut intuition leads me to suspect there might be
something funny with what looks like unmatched
parentheses in the first and second elements of the
list in the first example shown, and maybe that is
confusing BBDB.
That should be more than enough information to confuse
you all. I'm certainly confused myself.

Looks to me like the -no-packages on the undump caused this code in
lisp/dump-paths.el to misfire and undump a xemacs.dmp with no packages path:

Is this a --pdump only issue? Does it work for others?
It's been a *bad* night - between this and trying to get CVS 1.11.1p1 to
build under Digital Unix ('make check' bombed - turned out it was comparing
the version to a regexp '[0-9.]*' and the 'p' made it blow chunks).

Actually, I'll probably come up with a sweeping load of questions

My hyperactive friend has apparently run into the emergency escape
feature that too many 'C-g' will cause XEmacs to 'Abort (and dump core)'

Because at times there have been bugs causing Emacs to loop without
checking `quit-flag', a special feature causes Emacs to be suspended
immediately if you type a second `C-g' while the flag is already set,
...
Abort (and dump core)? (y or n)
...
The info page implies that this feature can turned off:
The double-`C-g' feature may be turned off when Emacs is running
under a window system, since the window system always enables you to
kill Emacs or to create another window and run another program.
How does one go about turning this feature off?
I'm running on windows. I don't need another program that tries to
abort (½ :-) when things happen too fast.

Dear Bug Team!
When I have both running, eshell and dired, no command can be executed
at eshell. I have to kill all dired-buffers to have eshell functioning
again. As I don't know if this is a dired or an eshell-bug, I'm
sending it here.
Also: I have seen this on windows (21.3|4) and linux 21.4|5. Even with
the latest post-ben-merge-version this error occurs. I had MULE and
noMULE-version on windows and at least this didn't matter.
To reproduce:
xemacs -vanilla
M-x dired
M-x eshell
try a command in eshell - like gzip or something - and it won't work
at all.

I was having this same problem while debugging battery.el for someone
else. Stepping thru the code will definitely create negative numbers
