Did anything change in the widget implementation ben? I had to put (setq
progress-feedback-use-echo-area t) in my .emacs to avoid a crash when the
progress bar was instantiated. If I load up gutter-items.el, this is the
stack trace I get. Doesn't seem terribly useful.
This was done with 'xemacs -q' and then doing turn-on-font-lock manually.
The last few evals are:
frame 2: actually calling Fdispatch_non_command_events

produces:

I have checked out xemacs some hours ago and compiled it.
But I have encountered an error while byte-compiling japanese.el.
I have applied following patch to japanese.el and it compiled smoothly.

[21.1.14] Setting browse-url-browser-function via customize broken

The browse-url-browser-function (in browse-url.el) setting via customize
menu is broken (XEmacs 21.1.14 with newest packages, including from
pre-releases).
Clicking the [Value Menu] gives:
Symbol's function definition is void: nil
A q'n'd fix is to revert this patch:

French guillemets mess up my custom.el

Hi,
As part of my LaTeX-math-list I redefine ` M-+ to something. It would
seem that XEmacs translates ?\M-+ to one-character "<<" the french use
for quotes.
Next time I use customize, this messes up the parentheses count
completely, resulting in something that looks like one custom.el file and
a half... afterwards, xemacs doesn't really want to go up properly, and I
can't really blame it.
I use xemacs 2.4.6, auctex 1.29, xemqacs-base 1.58, textools 1.12
(anything else I shouldlist?)
Any suggestions, please? If so, CC me, as I am not subscribed to this
list.

JDE has two cases of two files that differ only in case --
KeyBindings.gif/Keybindings.gif, JDEMenu.gif/jdemenu.gif.
this is no good because Windows file systems are not case-sensitive.

It used to be in obsolete.el, but is there no longer. I don't think
it was obsolete in the first place, so I'm not sure why it was there.
Anyway, CHANGES-ben-mule claims:
- eliminate unused truncate-string{-to-width}
