Hi,
I maintain an Elisp package that was developed for FSF EMacs but which I try
and keep compatible with XEmacs. Recently an XEmacs user noted a
compatability problem which I have tracked down to the simple.el package. In
FSF Emacs they define a variable (undo-in-progress) that is set by the
undo-more defun. This variable is primariliy available for before/after
change functions to use to determine if a undo operation is in progress when
they run.
The differences are:
FSF Emacs simple.el:

(Xemacs keyboard events corresponding to) X keysym codes 0x80 .. 0xff
should not be interpreted as latin-1 characters by
`self-insert-command'.
In particular, `ascii-character' property of `agrave' and like should
not be set while handling MappingNotify x event. Instead, some other
interpretation (according to some other 8-bit coding) is desired.
Is there a way to specify that to xemacs with mule?

Sumo Update

Last week I put new Sumo packages into the Pre-Release directory and
said I was going to move them to the normal package directory
shortly. Um, it ain't gonna happen. :-(
There's a couple of things that make it awkward to do so (a broken
Ediff package for starters).
So I'm going to hold off with the Sumo until Ediff is fixed. I'll
apply the recent barrage of package patches and roll some new packages
and include those in the Sumo as well.
Sorry about this folks, but I really don't want to release a Sumo with
broken packages in it, if at all possible.

Crash with latest beta cvs when setting logo

Decided to try out the latest ben merge. Found out that I had this
old snippet of code in my .xemacs. Evaling this in an "src/xemacs -q"
session creates the appended backtrace.

Dear Bug Team!
Something strange happens in Gnus with some messages between the
summary- and the article-buffer, when I scroll through the
message. See <http://khaberz.net/xemacs.jpg>
It only happens with some messages but I haven't figured out what
these messages have in common. I can reproduce it with those messages.
If there's any more useful info I can provide, please let me know.
