Hi,
I think I found a bub in XEmacs 21.1.10-5 (I installed it with the debian package).
Actually it's not very easy to explain how the probleme appeared.
I was working on a file a wanted to open an other file in a buffer when I got the warning i put in the subject of this email. I tried to open an other and got the same trouble.
I tried to load an other XEmacs open the file I was first working on and then the second file in a new buffer but didn't get any warning and I was that time able to open the second file.
I hope this report is not to confusing and may be helpful.
If you have any clue of details you may need, feel free to reply me.

Hi Dhruva,
you're right, /y is only available on Windows 2000.
Could you please try whether changing to
COPY=xcopy /q /r
COPYDIR=xcopy /q /r /e
(using /r instead of /y) will overwrite existing files without
prompting?

Hi,
I tried to build the beta (Xemacs-21.5.3 "asparagus") on a Windows NT service
pack 4. In the xemacs.mak, the XCOPY command is given a "/y" option which does
not exist. I had to remove the "/y" option to make it build. I just thought of
informing the concerned about this.

There was a discussion about `read-passwd' accepting RET as a
passphrase character here recently. It seems as if lazy-lock can cause
this.
However, I have never used lazy-lock, and I get this buggy
`read-passwd' behaviour from time to time anyway. O well, maybe it is
worth a try for some of the others that reported this. (The bug in
`read-passwd' is triggered when you change XEmacs frames, somehow. It is
difficult to reproduce.)

Brian emailed me this week about a bug report I sent directly to him,
but is also covered in Sourceforge bug #436809. (Did I write that?) The
short of it is: when you try to enter your passphrase, mailcrypt
accepts Enter/Return as a character. This past summer I fixed the
problem and promptly forgot about it.
After getting Brian's email I poked around to try and figure out what
I did, and found a comment (GASP!) in my ~/.emacs. Here it is:

;;; *WARNING* lazy-lock breaks mailcrypt (can't use 'Return' key)
;(add-hook 'font-lock-mode-hook 'turn-on-lazy-lock)

So, if this happens to you, disable lazy-lock. If that doesn't work,
then you have bigger problems. :)
No, I haven't looked to see where the conflict is in the two packages,
and I probably never will. fast-lock is working just peachy for me.
