What's new?
===========
This release adds few improvements to the previous release:
- the ability to process the result of an XSLT transformation through
the Apache FOP processor.
- initial integration with the DocBook-XSL project; HTML and PDF
generation and viewing from within Emacs of DocBook documents is
supported.
- support for specifying proxies and additional arguments to the
supporting Java VM.
What is it?
===========
XSLT-process is a minor mode for GNU Emacs/XEmacs which transforms it
into a powerful editor with XSLT processing and debugging
capabilities. With this mode you can:
- run an XSLT processor on the Emacs buffer you edit, and view the
results either in another Emacs buffer or in a browser.
- run an XSLT processor in debug mode and view what happens during the
XSLT transformation. You can set breakpoints, run step by step into
your stylesheet, view global and local XSLT variables and many
more. In this mode you effectively use GNU Emacs/XEmacs as an XSLT
debugger.
- when used with the DocBook-XSL package, GNU Emacs/XEmacs becomes a
powerful DocBook processing system.
Currently the Saxon and Xalan Java XSLT processors, and Apache FOP are
supported, and the mode comes out of the box configured to use them.
The package has been tested on XEmacs, versions 21.1.14 and 21.4.3,
and GNU Emacs 20.7.1, under both Linux and Windows 2000.
The package is free software and is distributed under GPL. The home

Yes, IrDA *can* be made to work over longer distances. In fact, several
of the Ir network links that have been hacked together are using
IrDA. The protocol has a fair amount of overhead that really detracts
from the raw speed.

Bother of these things are probably more difficult then building a decent
yagi antenna. I also suspect that the PowerBook's weren't communicating
at 4mbps either.

I also suspect that that's be harder then you think. The trick is to get
it fast. The commercial products don't use powerful lasers, they use damn
good optics and signal processing.

No buffer tabs?

I just built 21.4.4, and am curious about the buffer tabs. The "Buffer
Tabs Visible" item is checked, and gutter-buffers-tab-visible-p is
't', but I don't see a gutter or buffer tabs.

Please write in English, because the XEmacs maintainers do not have
translators to read other languages for them.
Please describe as succinctly as possible:
- What happened.

Dear Bug Team!
When building with LDAP support, the '-z ignore' link switch for the
solaris compiler cause the executable to not be able to find symbols
(functions) defined in liblber and/or libresolv. If this flag is NOT
used, everything runs find.
My first recommended sollution is to totaly remove the -z ignore test
from configure.in. If there is some reason to keap it, then I
recommend moveing the test to AFTER the LDAP test and then don't use
if LDAP support is being included.

-z ignore | record
Ignores, or records, dynamic dependencies that are not
referenced as part of the link-edit. By default, -z
record is in effect.

Any interest to make/maintain irchat a XEmacs package?

Hi Everbody!
I am releatively new to the world of IRC.
So far I have used zenirc to chat from within my beloved XEmacs.
irchat was recommended to me at
http://my.gnus.org
and I gave it a try.
Now I am interested to learn whether it is still actively maintained.
If so, I would like to probe your interest in making it a standard
XEmacs package, available via
http://www.xemacs.org
There is the choice that the irchat maintainers also update the XEmacs
package with future changes. Alternatively the XEmacs Development
Team may be willing to perform this task. I could help to make this a
proper XEmacs package, which should be a minor integration issue.
Now a user question:
Does irchat 3.05 support font-locking of some sort? My research so
far leads me to believe this not to be the case.
However,

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:
Start an isearch-forward, getting a prompt "I-search: " on the
message line. Without entering something on the message line, go back
to the buffer and click. A message appears:
(error/warning) Error in `pre-command-hook' (setting hook to nil):
(wrong-type-argument integer-or-marker-p nil)
setting all the pre-command-hooks to nil. Apparently
isearch-pre-pre-command-hook or isearch-pre-command-hook in
.../lisp/isearch-mode.elc is not catching errors.
Unfortunately, the error message did not state which hook was allowing
errors to escape it. The following gross hackery in my init.el helped
catch the culprit:

I had forgotten that Emacs/W3 was shipped with Lucid Emacs back then, so
the standard archives ＠ xemacs.org ended up being the best source. Thanks
to everyone who dug up private copies, I appreciate it.
I met in person with the microsoft lawyers last week, and gave them the
public email archives and source distributions of Emacs/W3 and Lucid Emacs
19.10. I'll be doing a deposition at some point in the future.
He explained the details of the mechanism they used for their 'plugins' and
it was something a 3rd grader could have cooked up. Amazing. *sigh*
