bug: Disabling gutter-buffers-tab doesn't disable gutters 23 years, 9 months

1. xemacs -vanilla 2. Options->Customize->Emacs->Environment-Gutter->Buffers Tab-> Buffers Tab Enabled 3. Toggle to nil, do Set or do: (setq gutter-buffers-tab-enabled nil) --> Notice that the buffers tabs are still shown. If this option is saved and Emacs restarted, the change takes effect. But setting it through the UI should have an immediate effect.

Status of bugs in bug tracking system? 23 years, 9 months

Hi, I submitted a bug report to the XEmacs bug tracking system many months ago. (The report is at <URL:http://cvs.xemacs.org/XEmacs-bugs?findid=1340>.) I don't think it's been looked at, so I'm wondering if there's some other mechanism I should use. The bug in question is one that crashes XEmacs about 25% of the time when I send mail with Gnus, so I'm often reminded that it's still there. I imagine it's an obscure bug with frame handling, and I could get around to changing what I'm doing to avoid the bug (I'm obviously a masochist), but I thought I'd ask about it. I'm currently using version 21.1.14 and still seeing the problem. Sorry if this list is an inappropriate place to ask; I didn't see a more appropriate one. (I've been on the xemacs-beta list for a long time.) Thanks, Reid

Random crashes 23 years, 9 months

Hi, Sometimes I get the following crash: LUCY:~$xemacs & [1] 1828 LUCY:~$Fatal error: assertion failed, file alloc.c, line 2400, GCLI_lh->type < lrecord_type_count [1]+ Exit 1 xemacs LUCY:~$ It is completely unreproducible unfortunately (last time it happened when starting gnus), and happens on average I'd say about once every 2-3 days (of full time use of XEmacs), and never when XEmacs is idle. I'm afraid that this is not too helpful, but perhaps XEmacs gurus would have some ideas on how to try to repro/catch this - I'd be glad to try it. XEmacs 21.1.13 for Windows and Cygwin 23 years, 9 months

The XEmacs team are proud to announce the availability of a self installing binary kit of XEmacs 21.1.13 for Microsoft Windows, native and Cygwin 1.1.x The kit is located at ftp://ftp.xemacs.org/pub/xemacs/windows/setup.exe and all the usual mirrors. This release is different to other releases in that it is supplied through a `net' installer which will download and install the components you select over the internet. The installer is based on the cygwin installer. The release supports binaries for both native Windows (95, 98, NT & W2K) and for Cygwin 1.1.6 or greater as well as all the relevant XEmacs packages. CVS locks in sourceforge 23 years, 9 months

Adrian and I have both recently had problems with cvs locks in Sourceforge for xemacsweb. I know this has bugged people on cvs.xemacs.org, too. There's a SourceForge support ticket #133406 (by patrickh) claiming to have fixed the problem for himself by adding logic to the admin scripts. Anybody know what this guy's talking about? Martin? Maybe I (or Martin) should ask him? This should apply to cvs.xemacs.org as well as sourceforge.
