[PATCH] Enhanced clipboard bug fix. 24 years, 4 months

I think this is probably the culprit. I suspect what's happening is that own-selection is adding a nil-typed entry, but get-selection is requesting a STRING-typed entry and can't find it. menubar face? 24 years, 4 months

Does anyone object to my introducing a 'menu' face that is used for all menus in XEmacs? I want to add this for XEmacs/GTK because it is a pain to change your theme just to change the menubar font height/width/etc. I know this would be hard or impossible under X, but what about windows? -Bill P.

Because all that stuff lives beyond the control of XEmacs (at least it used to, I don't know about all the changes to lwlib that andy has done lately). Right now you can only specify it via X resources, not from lisp. -Bill P.

Hard or impossible. I /have/ done it before, but it involves hacking in areas that the window system assumes are sacrosanct, and is far from simple. xemacs crashes on console if .emacs not migrated 24 years, 4 months

This bug report will be sent to the XEmacs Development Team, not to your local site managers!! Please write in English, because the XEmacs maintainers do not have translators to read other languages for them. In XEmacs 21.2 (beta34) "Molpe" [Lucid] (i586-pc-linux) of Tue Jul 18 2000 on boffi95 configured using `configure --extra-verbose --without-wmcommand --with-athena=3d --with-modules --debug --error-checking=none --use-union-type --with-clash-detection --rel-alloc' Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug and the precise symptoms of the bug: i started xemacs on linux console, i pressed _any_ key, bang later, i started xemacs on X, migrated .emacs, started again on console and xemacs started cleanly no stack, no backtrace, sorry

Right. Here's (I hope) a fix for the other problem that Ben reported (i.e. selection requests *from* XEmacs not working). Again, I can't make it work on X, so I can't test this - though I've run through the new code paths on Win32 and it seems OK. There is one thing I *don't* like about it, but I don't really have time to do it properly - I'll send in more patches after the beta's released - and that's the fact that it calls select-convert-out from within get-selection-internal when it needs to coerce. I don't like this, and I think I'll add select-coerce, an associated alist and a load more Lisp functions. Regards, Alastair. lisp/ChangeLog: 2000-07-18 Alastair J. Here's a fix for the other bug re. kill and yank. I'd assumed that the "push" argument to own-selection was just another name for "append".
