The CVS server is back up and I was able to commit all my work from the
weekend. This includes better toolbar support (modelled after the X
support), with the exception that the 'toolbar' face is used to draw the
borders (there was a comment in the X code that this should be done, and it
was fairly easy). This means that you can change the toolbar look after it
is created (currently in X it is fixed at startup), and much better quit
handling (like it actually works :).
Frame resizing works much better, a lot less flashing caused by XEmacs and
GTK fighting about who gets to set the background pixmap / color.
One scary thing I noticed is that XEmacs obeys the GNOME theme selector and
dynamically changes its theme. I thought I'd have to do some magic to get
that working. :) I'm downloading every theme I can find to see if any
cause us fits.
If people could really bang on this, I would appreciate it. It does NOT
work with GTK 1.3 because they have changed LOTS of things (like the entire
type system and small little details like that - *sigh*).
I have also had reports of problems under linux using GTK 1.2.6 (crashes in
print_internal while starting up). If anyone can repro this, please
contact me! Pretty please?

I tried --with-dlmalloc=no --rel-alloc (just for the hell of it) and
was able to build and run release-21-2 for the first time in several
weeks.

I run woody, and while I couldn't build 32, rolling back to 31 worked
for me.
