First, thanks to Ben for acceleratorizing the menu bar. I like the change a lot. However, the obvious question comes up: how do I use the accelerators? Neither M-f nor A-f appear to work. Also, I think I've noticed a bug: in Gnus "message" mode, there are multiple menu entries with the same accelerator character:

xemacs 21.9 advice and dired 25 years

Hello I tried to install xemacs 21.9 under linux (20.035 kernel libc5) which went smoothly (to my surprise). However as it seems dired does not come per default but has to be loaded down as a package, so far so good but even advice was not included and for me it is not clear where to find it. Could someone please tell me where to find advice? Could one discuss maybe the politics of what a minimal xemacs must include? IMHO auctex, reftex etc not but dired yes. Uwe Brauer

I have no real idea here but verify you don't have an EUDC installation partly shadowing another and try to remove .elc files in order to use the uncompiled version of the files. Oscar

I don't like the "Alt/Meta" wording, but I think I understand why it's there. I have both Meta and Alt (both detected by Emacs), and I'd expect accelerators to be invoked by Alt, leaving Meta free for commands. Instead, Meta is used for accelerators by default.

Standard setup which will not get changed on request of a single guy. But I agree that the reply format generated by Notes can be annoying. 21.2.31 crash on Solaris 2.7 25 years

I had just finished reading some folder in VM and pressed q. While it was doing its thing, I either exposed the GNUS frame or something like that (sorry, I wasn't paying attention to exactly what I was doing). read-file-name loading cl-macs 25 years

After Ben's patch, it seems that XEmacs tries to load "cl-macs" when I press C-x C-f. This does not cause problems, but it's unnecessary and annoying -- cl-macs should not be required for running XEmacs. The change is probably somehow related to the new code in minibuf.el parts of which (I guess) don't get compiled/macroexpanded properly. Repeat with: $ ./src/xemacs -vanilla C-x C-f C-g C-h l Now the recent messages buffer shows "Loading cl-macs".
