In case anyone cares, I tried compiling 21.2.36 with gcc 2.7.2.2 and
-O3 (config auto-selected) optimization. It builds just fine.
I haven't used it yet, but I'll be using it in my day-to-day work now
to see how it fares.
My Sun C compiled version has been pretty solid and only today did I
get my first crash. It was some kind of gc crash. I didn't report it
because I had compiled with optimization so there wasn't a whole lot
of info in the backtrace.
