Do you really still need that? I thought Sparworks has been dead for
ages. The product underwent at least three updates and two name
changes since it was last called sparcworks.

The maintainer of the Sun workshop/forte XEmacs integration is
Tor Norbye <tor(a)eng.sun.com>
We might want to have a look at the code shipped with Forte 6.0 and
see whether we should merge any of that.

In case anyone cares, I tried compiling 21.2.36 with gcc 2.7.2.2 and
-O3 (config auto-selected) optimization. It builds just fine.
I haven't used it yet, but I'll be using it in my day-to-day work now
to see how it fares.
My Sun C compiled version has been pretty solid and only today did I
get my first crash. It was some kind of gc crash. I didn't report it
because I had compiled with optimization so there wasn't a whole lot
of info in the backtrace.

Hi,
this is a request for a slight change to comint.el. The background is
that we want to add (in matlab.el) a command to the comint-input-ring
without using comint-send-input:

We decided not to simply insert the command to the matlab shell and
use comint-send-input on it:

To accomplish this (without duplicating internal code of comint.el) it
would be beneficial to have a function which simply adds the input to
the comint-input-ring (in the same way as is done in
comint-send-input). The function `comint-add-to-input-history' does
right this. Eric Ludlam sent a similar patch to the Emacs maintainers.
