For now, setting `allow-deletion-of-last-visible-frame' to t fixes the problem, but that's not a good long-term fix.

As far as I am concerned, it will always be a requirement unless someone comes up with something better. I am less convinced than ever that we wish to use configure on my end. configure is inherently flawed with respect to building things for other systems. Hi Adrian, I have a working gnuserv/gnuclient installation for native build. But I don't know where I got it from, damn. Hmm, you say, you have a cygwin installation. Couldn't you try to build the cygwin gnuserv/gnuclient and test them with your native build? I guess, I did exactly this ... HTH, norbert.

In the Win95 GUI (now used also by NT), there seems to be no such thing as "iconified window". The only things that qualify as icons seem to be the stupid and useless bits on the desktop. :-) For example, setting frame-icon-title-format does nothing on NT. Instead one must set frame-title-format and decide if one's iconified by calling (frame-iconified-p).
