XEmacs 21.2.15 "桜川" is released 25 years, 5 months

Get it from the usual places: ftp://ftp.xemacs.org/pub/xemacs/beta/xemacs-21.2/ http://cvs.xemacs.org/ NB: I put up a patch kit, but it is probably poison. One file isn't properly checked into CVS and causes `cvs rdiff' to puke. Also, this is the first time I've made a distribution on a Solaris box. Please report anything strange in the packaging to me so I can fix it. There are many, many tests in the test suite now. Please run them with `make check' and submit any results that are non-100% to xemacs-beta(a)xemacs.org. There are 68 unidentified lisp tests that fail on DEC OSF and 1 unidentified base64 test that fails with XEmacs no-Mule. Solaris 2.6 and Linux look clean. All files have been signed with gnupg. The public key for verifying signatures is at: ftp://ftp.xemacs.org/pub/xemacs/pgp-keys/xemacs_dist.asc This release is mostly bug fixes. [PATCH] `LDAP' as opaque data type 25 years, 5 months

This patch should fix the recent OpenLDAP breakage due to them finally moving to a more netscape-ish opaque data type. This just generalizes the tests for whether to use ldap_set_option and friends. It now actually checks for the functions with AC_CHECK_FUNCS instead of making assumptions about the SDK we are using, etc. I am not sure if these tests will work with the really old netscape 1.0 LDAP library anymore. But they have been on 3.x for ages now, so I don't know if that is a real loss or not. Checking for things like 'ldap10' or 'ldap30' seems silly. It should just be 'ldap'. Feh! -Bill P. I think we could pretty easily do _really_ asynchronous searches.
