Romanian Splash screen and Menubar support 26 years, 4 months

We now have Romanian Splash Screen and Menubar support courtesy of Tudor Hulubei <tudor(a)cs.unh.edu>. Thanks Tudor. I've tested the Splash Screen and Menubar, however `LANG=ro xemacs --help' doesn't work for me. Does a Mule (or Latin-2) expert know how to make it work? Hand edit src/Makefile and replace `-rdynamic' with `-export-dynamic'. Does this allow you to link?

() Another gloriously informative stackbacktrace courtesy of GNU libc, cool ... :-( Fukuisan, could you please try running XEmacs under the debugger and sending the stackbacktrace you get there? Debugging coredumps of binaries linked against GNU libc is usually futile, but sometimes you can get lucky if you can force a coredump while running under the debugger. Thanks.

Based on Colin Rafferty's analysis of the problem, at a minimum we must turn off automatically turning on OffiX DnD. It has a use in a single server environment (I almost never use multiple displays) so I don't think it should be removed entirely. I dislike intensely programs that you have to beg to not get screwed by.

`make gzip-el' screws package-get 26 years, 4 months

`make gzip-el' gzips package-get-base.el, which causes the expression (package-get-file-installed-p "package-get-base.el") (at the top level of package-get.el) to return nil, which in turn causes (file-attributes package-file) to signal an error, which causes the load of package-get to fail. I don't have a fix. The question (to my mind) is whether: a) package-get-file-installed-p should allow for the case where a gzipped version of the file is installed, b) package-get should explicitly test for the existance of package-get-base.el.gz, or c) make gzip-el should avoid gzipping package-get-base.el -- Glynn Clements <glynn(a)sensei.co.uk>
