If you believe informative messages should not pop at the user's face (and so
do I) maybe this could be a good reason to set the default of
`display-warning-minimum-level' to 'warning instead of the current 'info so
that only warnings and more severe messages would pop up.

Because you can't su root, log on your server or whatever does not mean nobody
can... Most Linux users are their own administrators, other people may have
good contact with their administrator, etc...

The message is informative, the user must be notified that what he's seeing is
not what is on his dir file. I believe it should stay the default and it is up
to anyone to change that behaviour with full knowledge of the fact.
