M-x compile RET echo $TERM RET gives me a buffer like this: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ cd /home/gb/ echo $TERM rxvt Compilation finished at Sat Aug 26 19:47:45 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ i wonder if it would be better to have TERM automatically set to emacs so that the new spiffy utility that colorizes gcc output could be turned off in the Compilation buffer ciao
