I vaguely recall some kind of parsing error for HOME directories
containing spaces and I think this has been fixed. I recommend taht
you try this setup kit:
http://ftp.xemacs.org/windows/testing/XEmacs_Setup_21.4.24.exe instead
of 21.4.22.

Hi Vin
Thanks for the reply. I downloaded that link you have below and ran it through virustotal
which uses multiple virus scanners to scan a file. It reports that it is infected with
Trojan/StartPage.wqo
This is the Virus total website I used to scan the file:
https://www.virustotal.com/en/
Some of the other xemacs executables I scanned had a different adware issue show up but
not a Trojan. Do you believe the file is infected?

FYI,
There are no spaces in my home dir. The init.el file is located here:
C:\Users\irv9457\.xemacs
The init.el file is being read by xemacs because if I place the following lines in the
file, I do see an error saying : "File mode specification error: (file-error "
cannot open load file" "vhdl-mode")
(autoload 'vhdl-mode "vhdl-mode" "vhdl mode" t )
;; Any files that end in .v should be in vhdl mode
(setq auto-mode-alist (cons '("\\.vhd\\'" . vhdl-mode)
auto-mode-alist))
;; Any files in vhdl mode should have their keywords colorized

Is the above is necessary to run vhdl-mode?
I do have a copy of vhdl-mode.el in the .xemacs directory.

This was our bug. I had an IT guy install it for me. He did not select the VHDL mode in
the install. That explains why it didn’t' work.
