From a practical standpoint, I just don't see why modules are
important
at all. It just seems like yet another "cool hack" that in
reality is
just a distraction from issues that really matter -- e.g. making the UI
better and in general making XEmacs easier to use.
I say, leave the modules as experimental and put effort into fixing all
the package brokenness that has made XEmacs a nightmare to install.

I think it is, but I'm not sure. It's especially questionable how
modules stand wrt the portable dumper.
