Uwe is running ubuntu 10.04 with an older version of Gtk than I used. I
think he has 2.20, I just modified configure.ac to include that information.
Gtk is constantly adding functions.
If these fixes aren't complete, I'll have to make a VM for 10.04 and get
xemacs-gtk to compile there.

I don't get this problem at all. It both compiles and executes the
unit tests OK. What happens after that is another story ;-)
I guess it is inevitable that when introducing a new concept like GTK2
and GTK3 there will be some environmental issues that it will take
some time to sort out.
