Hi John - (et al)
Even though I'm not a heavy IRIX user and I've shied away from 21.2
until the gutter-tabs get fixed, your message prompted me to log in to
an IRIX node, do a CVS checkout and try for myself. (It's a lot of
fun having so many different machines around to play with!)
basically, it stalls here:
Basically, it failed to fail for me. I took your exact configure
command, changed all occurences of /u/turner to /home/cgw, and got rid
of the `-mabi=n32' flag which my C compiler didn't accept.
The `./configure' completed normally and the `make' is cooking along
as I type this.
Maybe your system is just hosed in some other way?
Or maybe there's a significiant difference between our setups. You
didn't say exactly what compiler version you were using.
My system looks like this:
sgi:xemacs-21.2$ uname -a
IRIX64 sgi 6.5 07151432 IP27
sgi:xemacs-21.2$ cc -version
MIPSpro Compilers: Version 7.2.1
How does that stack up to yours?
