Hi There, VM users!
I've added VM support to 'patch-keywords.el' and I need a couple of
people who use VM to test it for me.
It's currently in CVS in the 'xemacs-devel' module.
(setq patch-review-mua 'vm)
M-x load-file RET /path/to/patch-keywords.el
M-x vm RET
reply to a message
hit 'M-p' in the compose buffer (whatever VM calls that)
I've tested it here under 'xemacs -vanilla' and it worked fine. Peter

i got it to work with xemacs -vanilla too
looks like there is something in my setup doing weird things to it then
big question is how do i go about finding it ??
i have a bunch of config files i load at startup
i will turn off some of them and let you know how it goes

i have been trying that
i think i have screwed up my custom.el file again :(
and im dreading having to rebuild it from scratch
is there anyway to check the layout of a custom.el file ??

It should have a
(custom-set-variables
'(...)
'(...))
form, followed by a
(custom-set-faces
'(...)
'(...))
form.
Each customization within them should occupy a single line.
Parens must match.

Do you have more than one call to custom-set-variables in your startup
scripts? I do not believe that will work reliably.

As Adrian suggested, could you turn on debug-on-error and post the
backtrace.

is something amiss with your setup.

i have nailed down where the problem is happening
my init.el file
if i have an empty init file it works fine
if i have ANY lisp at all at all in my init file it doesnt work
i striped my init file down to one line
(setq load-path (cons (expand-file-name "~/.xemacs/elisp/") load-path))
and it broke patch-keywords
if i just have my custom.el file patch-keywords works like a charm
and another thing i noticed is that my email address (set in my
custom.el) gets changed to <loescher(a)leo.org>
any one what to hazard a guess why this is happening ??
any help will be very appreciated
i can send my startup files if that will help

What does
(locate-library "patch-keywords")
give you?
while i was testing i used load-file to load the new cvs version steve
comitted
i just loaded it again and did a locate-library on patch-keywords
it said
/usr/local/xemacs/beta/lib/xemacs/xemacs-packages/lisp/xemacs-devel/patch-keywords.elc
thats weird
is that what its supposed to do ??

i sent a bug report a couple of hours ago
hope that helps work out what is different between my setup and the
people who have had success
if i cant get this working im going to start using gnus and workout
how to convert my vm email to gnus format
