In fact, the only thing that I *don't* like with the coding system
stuff are the CODING-SYSTEM arguments scattered all over the place.
For instance, is the CODING-SYSTEM argument to Fmd5 *really*
necessary? I wonder...
I put that in there for use with email systems or digital sigs.
Visualize having a buffer in SJIS, (which usually is translated to
ISO-2022-JP for mailing) and wanting to put a digest on it. I figured
that feature would come in handy...
I am perfectly willing to be shouted down, however...
