 OK, it's just the help strings. Fixed in CVS.
 The DIR argument is the parent of {xemacs,mule,site}-packages, which
 is the same syntax as you were using. 
        OK, so IIUC what I was looking for is the --with-system-packages
option. 'don't consider this naming scheme as an improvement, but anyway.
