almost makes a reason''. Ultimately, RMS likes to be in control,

reasoning, but you dislike RMS, so you feel the need to stoke the

No, actually I've seen claims attributed to lawyers on both sides of
the question, but I note that RMS does in fact project a lot of
control issues. Arguing about the stated reason/rationalization seems
pointless when there's a much simpler, more obvious explanation.
And for what it's worth, I think RMS is a basically good guy who has
some hang-ups that conflict with some of his goals. I'm very thankful
for the things that he's done to promote free software development and
perturbed by the things that he's done to inhibit it. Overall, the
former outweight the latter, but the latter can still be damned
annoying.
