(1) Does this happen starting with -vanilla?
(2) Are your Lisp libraries on a network drive?
(3) Is the Red Hat box less well-connected to the network than the
Solaris box?

(2) No
(3) Yes, the Redhat box is on an iDSL line, the Sun is on my company's
t1 - but I'd hope 144k is fast enough.
Read through PROBLEMS and explicitly set my DISPLAY to localhost:0.0.
Starts faster now, but is this the only solution short of modifying the
C and recompiling?
BTW, upgraded to 21.4.0 now, same behavior.
