I did think of doing that as a last resort, but really wanted something that worked across
all the machines I have XEmacs on without having to install a full development environment
on them.
I have a git repository that I clone to each machine that sets up XEmacs the way I like
it, so I'm up and running in seconds on any new box. :)
But, there are a number of comments that indicate that the init
files
should be able to affect the initial frame (although none of them say
so directly, they mention variables that do this or that). However,
as it works out, the frame initialization comes about 5 lines before
loading the init files. I'm not sure why that is so.
Where's Ben when you need him? :)
