I see the redisplay thing but I hardly think its a showstopper.
The last release was almost a year ago. If there's even the most
remote chance that the next release could be current for anywhere near
as long, I think that leaving this bug in would be unwise.
I don't think that I get quite as slow as Soren's 1200 baud, but it's
not uncommon for me to telnet to my home machine from work. Between
the slowness of our firewall and the high probability that I'm
competing with my daughter for bandwidth on the home modem, the
connection speed is often pretty slow. Unneeded repaints are the most
annoying thing around when using a slow connection.
