I was just trying to say that for all external distributed packages
there is always the risk that there is a version skew between
the version of the XEmacs Packages the packages was built against and
the version actually in use.
That's why the GPL asks for the complete, _corresponding_ source code
to be available with a distribution. So at least the metafiles that
are package specific should be available with the package, either in
the package itself, or from the same download location (and its
mirrors).
