We need an example of such a message with an unreadable MIME part. (I
use VM daily and have observed no such problem, so I doubt I'm going
to suddenly encounter one today.)
If for whatever reason, you don't want to send a copy of the message,
make sure that the mail message is correctly formatted according to
MIME. ("Readable in Gnus or Outlook Express" is not necessarily
evidence that it is correctly formatted.) Check that "=" occurs only
as the last 1 or 3 characters of the MIME part, and that the total
number of non-space characters in the MIME part is divisible by 4.
Use the VM "D" (that's uppercase D) to rotate the MIME presentation
until it shows you the raw message.
