Kyle, just to be clear, are you advocating not allowing building with
egcs-1.1 on alphas or on all platforms? I've been building and
running successfully with egcs-1.1 (first on UnixWare, now on redhat)
since it came out. I agree with Hrvoje, there are a lot of different
compiler options, I don't think it makes sense not to build with a
particular compiler. Perhaps a warning from configure is in order,
however. I agree with Hrvoje that the warnings at the end are
noticeable; I generally notice when I'm mistakenly building an XEmacs
without xpm support, for instance.
