We upgraded the sshd during the recovery from the crash, and
unfortunately forgot to permit environment processing
(PermitUserEnvironment), which is needed for your CVS-setup - Sorry.
That's why it barfed about the "Bad options" - the authorized_keys2 file
is fine.
 debug1: Remote: Bad options in /home/xemacs/.ssh/authorized_keys2
 file, line 71: environment="CVS_USER=adrian",environment="USER=ad 
I've changed the sshd configuration and reloaded sshd, so please try
again.
