Remaining package issues in latest (pre8) XEmacs
The network segment with the machine I have XEmacs 21.0 just
dissappeared so I have to write my comments from memory
1. The package tools and the website disagree over the name of the
package index. the tools want ".LATEST" but the site has
".LATEST.pgp". After I changed the name it went very smoothly
2. The failure in 1. highlighted another problem. Package-get should
offer to fall back on the local info (cached from last time, or
from the distribution if this is the first time).
3. text-mode 1.13 is broken. The '(defvar flyspel-mode-map)' in
fly-spell.el should get an autoload. BTW Big Kudoo's to whoever
implemented that errors in init files now are reported as warnings.
(Yes I know that is not new).
4. I will make a new patch to get a least a minimal VC menu.
