rms's response to the idea of supporting ssh in Emacs was an absolute
refusal based on a principle that I believe applies to ClearCase too:
make it difficult to use anything that's not 100% free. So this will
be an interesting test case for the new maintainership's policy.
I would recommend breathing normally in the interim.
On the other hand, well-designed modularity should make it relatively
easy for us to add a vc-cc _module_ that can easily stay synched to
the underlying mechanism in the FSF's version.
