Very strange. custom-file is nil. However, load-user-init-file works
around that, identifies the correct file, loads it, but the customization
never occurs?!?
So, just to make sure I understand, it's really the code saved into
~/.xemacs/custom.el that doesn't work? I.e. it doesn't have an effect
if you load it via, say, M-x load-file?
