以下は Grant McKenzie <Grant.McKenzie(a)msdw.com> による質問です。

Hi,
seeing strange behaviour when searching using isearch for iso-2022-jp
encoded files. Please see below;
"...while I looked into the problem a
bit further, I found out the following things with XEmacs 21.1.7 w/
Mule functionality:
+ It always fails i-search with strings coming after ESC ( J. Try
hiragana pronounced "ah" followed by the letter "a". Search for "a"
fails.
+ It doesn't recognized ESC $ @ as a Japanese character start sequence
at all. The file is also consists of the hiragana "ah" followed by the
letter "a", but XEmacs w/ Mule doesn't display the hiragana when the
file is opened.
Although the combination of ESC $ B and ESC ( B is the current mode,
ESC $ @ and ESC ( J are
+ still widely used.
+ valid with regard to RFC 1468, which is the official definition of
the ISO-2022-JP encoding scheme.
So the behavior is unusual."
Can somebody please verify if this is bug (a quick check of version 20.4
& 21.2.20b shows the same behaviour).
Regards,
Grant.
