Nor do I, especially when we have a superior replacement (PNG). The
lack of animation in PNG is not an issue because we have never
supported animated GIFs.
On a similar vein, since it isn't GIF format that's the problem -- it's
the patented LZW compression algorithm, the .Z photo files probably
ought to be converted to .gz (or better to PNG) as well.
