I see both jit-ucs and Japanese charsets.
A quick M-: (mm-find-charset-region (mark) (point)) in the original
buffer reveals this:
(korean-ksc5601 japanese-jisx0208 jit-ucs-charset-0 ascii)
Quite likely that my email got garbled due to my misconfiguration.
Please confirm that your suggested change is still valid before I
recompile.
What is also annoying is that I use mic-paren, which makes
sexpressions bold-face when I am on a parenthesis. This changes the
displayed glyphs again. Most of them turn to box outlines (unknown
char?).
Interestingly the same XEmacs/Gnus configuration on Win32 has similar
issues but the characters affected are different.
Thanks
Marcus
