RE: Company sued over comments in code
I just can't see what "fetch watermelon" is supposed to
mean. It
makes no sense to me.
It is a reference to the racial stereotype that all Black people love
watermelon. The word "fetch" indirectly alludes to a Black comedy
character in the 1930s called "Steppin Fetchit", who was lazy and stupid
for comic effect.
