This
error is misleading, it's due to a condition-case in files.el catching
'error instead of something more specific. I'm pretty sure the
problem is in PSGML, possibly in psgml-html.el. I don't have time to
investigate at the moment.
Yes, I saw this too yesterday when I tried to get my new 21.4.9rc1 to
dump core to see if I was able to convince RPM not to strip the
executables.
(I'm working on a drop-in replacement RedHat 7.3 XEmacs RPM that would
be 100% compatible with the RH one, plus contain all the goodies
necessary for debugging, eg. meaningful stack traces. Stay tuned.)
Anyway, I got the "bold" complaint for the first 5 or 6 times when doing
a "xemacs doesnt_exist.xml", and then a nice crash. I thought it would
be just another case of the inconsistency I reported before... but it
isn't? You can't get xemacs to crash any more with the xml stuff, no?
