"Synch-to-FSF" breakage from October 1997. If it makes you feel
better, it's useful for RMail users. :-P
I know what to do about it; I want to look over that file for similar
pure brokenness and lying comments before sending a patch.... I'll
also try to sanity-check all the other coding system defaults, too.
