Depends on what is being looked up---I hadn't yet thought the issue
through to this point. If it's the X server host (your desktop), all
is groovy. If it's the X client (the login host), which is what I
remember, I guess you're back in XEmacs 21.1-land. Ouch.[1]
I greatly appreciate your patience and care in explaining, and it
certainly has bumped the issue's priority for me a couple of notches.
