I suggest you contact Charles and Greg one more time, and then when
there is some concensus on what to do submit one final patch to
xemacs-patches.
Greg is our official pcl-cvs guy, however it seems that he is
unfortunately too busy now. I would prefer if one of you managed to
get at least a nod of approval from him.
