Suddenly I've discovered that "*Completions*" and "*Help*" buffers are being created and filled, but are not popping to the front. Some examples: o M-x describe-bindings creates the *Help* buffer, but appears not to, i.e., there is no apparent response. I have to run electric-buffer-list or list-buffers to see the *Help* buffer and select it. o Tab completion does not work as we like it. For instance, in my home directory I have several files named ".gn*": $ ls -d .gn* .gnome .gnome-desktop .gnome-help-browser .gnome_private .gnupg .gnus However, if I type in "ls -d .gn<Tab>" instead of the list of completions, I just get this following <Tab> [ATTACHMENT ~/gfx/i/2002_03_05_114839_shot.jpg, image/jpeg] Notice the "Press space to flush", verifying that the completion was done. When I look at the buffers, I find this: [ATTACHMENT ~/gfx/i/2002_03_05_114901_shot.jpg, image/jpeg] Note that the fact that it doesn't pop up Help buffers indicates it doesn't have anything to do with the Unix shell. (Adrian suggested offhand there might be a connection.) Is there some sort of variable I might have hosed that causes that *not* to pop forward when it's created? It's really annoying.
