I *did* figure out what the problem is in a rough way: Motif pees
all
over the data area with allocated storage.
Hmm.. explains why linking with X11R6.4 libs still barfs. ;)
I am surprised that so far, there seems to be *no* indication that
anybody has actually *REPORTED* the problem to IBM (or at least, there's
no open APARs against it). I admit being remiss here myself, I've about
gotten enough stuff together to submit a bug report against the
XtAddInput()/select() fuckage.
BTW: We still do need a note in PROBLEMS about AIX X libXt, don't
we?
Well.. we need to decide exactly what to tell them. Are we going to
bite the bullet and give them a URL to a pre-built X11R6.4 tarball?
I have such a beast:
12047 -rw-r--r-- 1 valdis spd 12704535 Dec 18 23:56 X11R6.4.prebuilt.tar.gz
Untars into /usr/X11R6.4, and then you can feed that to --with-X11=.
But how do we distribute it, etc? (Also, it includes a lot of extra shit,
like the bin/ directory, etc...)
