if you could checkout latest versions of 21.4 and 21.5 and run
configure with no arguments and email the results that would help alot
Peter,
AFAICT, "./configure" works fine with 21.4 CVS on Win98 Cygwin.
However, "make install" fails. "installexe.sh" is missing from
lib-src/Makefile.in.in. It should be added to one of GEN_SCRIPTS or
PKG_SCRIPTS, I don't know which. (I don't know what those names
mean.) If someone can tell me, I can submit a patch to
xemacs-patches.
I wrote about this a couple of times on this list, here's the latest
message:
<
http://list-archive.xemacs.org/xemacs-beta/200108/msg01064.html>. I
should point out that my "draft patch" does not apply cleanly, I think
it was wrapped by my mailer. I suspect my choice of macro was wrong
anyway, which is why I want advice on what to edit before I submit the
patch properly.
That message had been for 21.5, but it seems to be missing from 21.4
currently, too. (I had never tried to build 21.4 until now.)
Someone definitely needs to fix this before either will build/install
cleanly on Cygwin.
Hope this helps. I'll repeat the exercise when these are committed.
Thanks,
David
