JDE mode bug! (was Re: Java mode bug ...)

Visiting a c, c++, or lisp file, the mode distinguishes between words and symbols. Visiting a java file does not. HOWEVER, as your response hints, I'm actually not using java-mode per se, but JDE mode. When I explicitly select java-mode (cc-mode), everything is as it should be. Clearly, I just need to tweak my auto-mode-alist. I suspect your beef is with the mode maintainers. Agreed. I assumed that they would read this list. I've CCed paulk(a)mathworks.com just in case. Rick
