Dear Bug Team!
Sorry for my error (I have too many versions in /usr/local/bin).
In the non-gtk version the only info file wich causes bunzip2 to
hang xemacs is the large mysql.info
The mmencode-problem seems to have disappeared (at least on the
message I tired before).
But there definitely is still a subprocess problem
