It is truly pathetic that this situation still persists.
I patched linux.h to #define ORDINARY_LINK years ago, but my patch was
reverted.
- xemacs cannot build with icc
- xemacs cannot be built on a Linux system where gcc 2.95.x is the
default compiler, when compiled with gcc 3.x.
Yet no one has ever shown a case where using the bizarre hack we
currently have is necessary.
I need to #define ORDINARY_LINK whenever I build xemacs.
XEmacs s&m files should use ORDINARY_LINK whenever possible. I
changed as many platforms as I could, but was thwarted on Linux.
