If XEmacs doesn't crash when you read the LaTeX file in, put that form
in your init file and be happy.
If XEmacs still crashes when you do that, please let us know!!

N.B. This may never get fixed in the 21.4 series, since we have a
workaround and the fix seems to me to be likely to require a fairly
complete reworking of the progress gauge widget, which might
destabilize Windows and so on that are not affected by this crash.
(That's just my opinion, if a fix is found the final decision is Vin
Shelton's.)
