I don’t think that’s a reasonable position to take. It’s a default. When it
sucks, people change it, they only report bugs in pathological cases. (Or
when they have an in ...)
I mentioned that Cygwin install because it was the most baseline Unix I had
access to. It’s essentially an XFree86 of three or four years ago. And the
Courier that it picked up previously is okay--it’s the bitmap font from
Adobe that shipped with the early X11 distributions--except when you have a
physically small screen with a high resolution, as happens with
twentysomethings and laptops. In that case, lucidatypewriter is more
readable by a good margin. Please don’t commit your patch.
