and the next time you exit and start XEmacs you get a warning. Bleah.
Yes, I once discovered that I had done rm -rf on the wrong subtree this
way, in time to recover the most important files. But in all other
cases, this warning is just an annoyance. And even in that case, it
is highly likely that within a few minutes I would have done C-x C-f
important-file-now-missing RET, and discovered the mess in time anyway.
